My name is Tim Teragawa and I have been weight training and competing in powerlifting meets for over 30 years. I have been in many, many gyms over the years and can honestly say that Lions Fitness is the best gym I have ever been in. Not only does this gym have the finest quality of equipment, but Jason has created an extremely positive and friendly environment. His members are always encouraging and very willing to give you a spot. I am 55 years old and still very feel welcomed. I have met several of my personal fitness goals while training here, thanks to the members, staff, and the top of the line equipment. I have recently achieved 3 state powerlifting records in my age group and weight class.

I've tried many gyms, a few felt like home, but I could never settle. After coming to Lions Fitness, I've been able to focus more clearly and strive towards my goals. One philosophy Jason has engrained in me is that we treat the gym like it's our chapel. If this is where you find your peace and where you come to improve yourself, why not treat it with the same respect as a chapel. I truly take this to heart and this same philosophy has helped me to know and understand where I am and where I want to go with my fitness.
I joined Lions primarily to lose weight. I discovered a community where everyone knows one another, and they support each other to achieve their individual goals. I also liked that Coach Jason provided not only exercise and weight lifting advice, but also diet and nutrition advice as well. In three months I lost 20lbs, but I also gained a ton in muscle so my fat loss was far more than 20lbs. I had to buy all new clothes!
I have been with Lions Fitness from day 1, and the decision to join this gym has been one of my best. Everything about it is great, they have plenty of equipment for all levels and types of fitness, the members are great, the atmosphere is motivating. I don't think I would have achieved my fitness goals anywhere else. Jason and Katie are the best, if you have a question about equipment or fitness in general they are more than willing to help out. Whether you are just starting out or have been training for years, this place is for you!
After over a year of dealing with medical issues, it was recommended by my doctor to start lifting weights. This seemed like an intimidating task, because I had preconceived notions of what a weightlifting gym would be like.
As soon as I took a tour of Lions Fitness, I knew things weren't going to be like I imagined. First off, this isn't a huge commercial gym so it feels like you have a place to be yourself. Second, Coach Jason is very easy to work with because he has helped people of all backgrounds and knows exactly how to tailor workouts to your specific needs, including after a surgery I had. Finally, Jason and Katie have created an environment that feels extremely welcoming. The gym commandments on the wall make it very clear that this is a place where being judgmental isn't tolerated.
Overall, I would recommend Lions to anyone interested in anything from losing weight all the way to training for competitions!
I joined Lions 4 months ago with little to no knowledge about anything gym related. I knew I had goals in mind but with never being a member at a gym, I needed someone to help me along the way. Katie has been with me the past 4 months as my personal trainer and continues to work with me every week, and I am so happy that I took the leap of faith and joined! Katie is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things health and fitness related. Katie is educated, certified, and has several years of experience. She has shown me how to use every machine in the gym, explains the workouts we're doing and why we're doing them, gives great feedback, and also listens to any questions or concerns that I might have. Just in these short 4 months I have been meeting my goals of losing weight, gaining strength, building muscle, and I'm so happy with the results so far and continue to work on these goals every week with her. Katie is more than just a personal trainer, she is a friend, a mentor, someone who genuinely cares about her clients, a constant in my life and someone I look forward to see every week. I wouldn't be where I am without her help and support!
